Meet our Head of Decarbonisation – Ian Goodchild

We are pleased to announce the newest addition to our team at Alternative Heat, Ian Goodchild, who joins as Head of Decarbonisation.

In line with the company’s continued expansion, his appointment comes at a pivotal moment and will help to further strengthen our team as we continue to experience strong growth within key decarbonisation sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.

Ian brings with him a wealth of expertise garnered from over 18 years’ experience in the construction and renewables industry. His proficiency lies in assisting clients with decarbonising their heating and cooling systems, within commercial buildings, with a particular emphasis on heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, and fabric efficiency upgrades.

Speaking on his new position, Ian noted, “I am incredibly excited to be joining such a strong and dedicated team that is focused on delivering the best solutions available to meet the needs of our clients, meaning we are able to deliver a raft of decarbonisation measures or simply just design and install a zero-carbon heating system.”

Ian specialises in supporting customers through the complexities of commercial decarbonisation projects, helping to navigate from early stage feasibility, through to tendering and procurement, whilst guiding on the evolving government policy, legislation and funding landscape.
