St Andrews/Beacon Video – Driving Decarbonisation through Offsite Innovation

We started the new year by reaffirming our commitment to sustainability with the delivery of a turnkey, offsite-prefabricated plant room housing air source heat pumps (ASHPs). This purpose-built packaged plant room was designed for seamless installation, ensuring every project we deliver contributes to a more sustainable, low-carbon future.

The ASHPs serve as the primary heat source, supported by water source heat pumps that boost outlet temperatures on demand to meet building heat loads. Positioned externally to the existing buildings, these systems are integrated into the existing heating infrastructure via pipework and electrical connections—delivering efficiency without disruption.

This project forms part of a multisite contract requiring repeatable, modular solutions for low-carbon heating. By leveraging offsite manufacturing, we’ve minimised disruption to building occupants while guaranteeing consistent quality across multiple locations—all while helping to decarbonise operational buildings.

Recently, the packaged plant room left our Banbridge Head Office and arrived on site, where it is now being connected to the main building in preparation for commissioning. This milestone marks another step toward delivering scalable, low-carbon heating solutions that make a real difference. As the UK takes bold steps toward achieving its decarbonisation targets, we’re proud to play a key role in delivering projects at scale throughout the UK and Ireland—utilising the very best of offsite manufacturing and market-leading low-carbon technology.
