Project Overview

Alternative Heat were engaged to deliver a purpose-built Steam Packaged Plantroom to provide primary DHW and LTHW supply for the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children

The contract award included for provision of 4No. 2T/hr steam generators, complete with all ancilliary equipment, interconnecting pipework and BMS controls within a bespoke modular plantroom, in addition to an external 30,000L fuel storage tank and a 27m high 4-stack integrated flue and flue mast.

The plantroom, which included a 6,000L feed-water tank, water conditioning equipment and district pump sets was designed and fabricated within 1No. 14m x 4.1m plantroom, maximising single module dimensions, whilst allowing for safe road transportation to site.

The completed plantroom, which was CE certified upon completion, was delivered to site, offloaded, and positioned across one weekend, minimising disruption, and reducing health and safety concerns on a busy hospital site.
