72 Prefabricated Utility Cupboards, 7 Riser Modules & 1 Skid Mounted Plantroom installation

Project Overview

Alternative Heat were contracted to design, manufacture, deliver and install 36No. Mechanical Utility Cupboards, 36 Electrical Utility Cupboards, 7 M&E Riser modules and a LTHW/ CHW plantroom.

Due to tight space allowances within the apartments the cupboards were designed as a single mechanical cupboard, housing HIU, MVHR, and a separate electrical cupboard, housing whole apartment controls, fire alarm controls, AV comms and consumer unit.

Each riser module was delivered with GRP flooring integrated at every floor level and all mechanical pipework pre-insulated, minimising onsite works and maximising the benefits of an offsite prefabricated solution.

The LTHW and CHW skid mounted plantroom was fully built and tested offsite, as it would be positioned on site, and was subsequently broken down into smaller modules, complete with flanged connections, for ease of onsite interconnections.

Alternative Heat integrated with the BIM model to ensure optimum cupboard, riser and plantroom designs and space utilisation. Standardisation and production line fabrication helped to maximise the benefits of and streamline the production efficiencies associated with an offsite fabricated solution.

By designing, fabricating, delivering and installing the cupboards, risers and plantroom Alternative Heat delivered a holistic prefabricated M&E solution for the shell and core fit-out, in-line with client requirements.
