1.2MW Biomass Energy Centre

Project Overview

Alternative Heat were contracted by FES Group as a specialist sub-contractor to design, manufacture, deliver and install a 1.2MW Packaged energy centre for Alness Academy, in Scotland.

For this project Alternative Heat designed, supplied, installed, tested and commissioned a fuly packaged plantroom complete with 2No. 600kW Herz BioFire biomass boilers, operating on wood pellet to supply the base heat load of the site.

The Packaged Plantroom also consisted of the associated auger systems, Herz central de-ashing system, BMS control, 2No. 20 Tonne Fuel Silos and a 15,000L external buffer tank.

Full Revit 3D Plantroom Layout drawings were provided to the client prior to commencement of fabrication works to ensure the best possible layout was achieved.
