Project Overview


The latest addition to the former Olympic Athletes Village, East Village N06 is the provision of 524 new build-to-rent homes that epitomise the latest design thinking and construction, utilising modern methods of construction.

Alternative Heat were contracted as a specialist sub-contractor to design, manufacture, deliver and install the full MEP shell and core package to include: 698 Prefabricated Utility Cupboards; 74 Mechanical & Public Health Risers; 90 Electrical Risers; and 3 Plantroom Skids for this high-rise residential development in Stratford, which spans over 2No. 26 & 30 storey towers and 2No. 10 storey pavilions.

Through early-stage design engagement and BIM model integration, Alternative Heat’s in house design teams designed and modelled the entire shell and core prefab package to include fixing details, expansion calculations, co-ordination with the site wide services and clash detection reviews, prior to entering fabrication.

Fabricated within our state-of-the-art offsite fabrication facilities, we manufactured, QA checked, and FAT tested 60% of the modules, prior to first deliveries to site, ensuring ‘just in time’ deliveries and facilitating onsite progress, despite Covid restrictions onsite, due to the majority of M&E works taking place within a safe, factory controlled environment.
