16No. CHW FIll & Spill Rooftop Plantrooms

Project Overview

Alternative Heat were engaged to design, prefabricate, deliver and install 16No. chilled water spill & fill rooftop plantroom modules for a new blue-chip data centre in the Republic of Ireland.

Alternative Heat’s in-house design team successfully consolidated and optimised multiple layouts to provide a single DFMA plantroom solution, designed and fabricated to incorporate full mechanical, electrical and BMS services installed, tested and pre-commissioned prior to delivery to site.

In designing and delivering an offsite, prefabricated plantroom solution, Alternative Heat’s DFMA approach enabled a greatly shortened programme duration, increased cost certainty and a high-quality build finish.

Plantroom design was optimised to 8.7m x 4m x 3.9m single plantroom modules, to provide maximum usable space within the permitted footprint. Each plantroom module was finished to an extremely high specification to include hot-dip-galvanised frames and Isogenopak insulation covers on all insulated pipework.
