Posted on 04 Nov, 2016

Alternative Heat are delighted to have been awarded the contract for design, supply, installtion and ongoing operation and maintenance of new modular biomass units for 3 schools in Glasgow.

As part of East Dunbartonshire Councils programme to introduce renewable energy heating systems to thei educational schools, Alternative Heat have been appointed to design, supply and install pre-fabricated biomass plantrooms that accomodate a 300kW heat demand for each school. Alternative Heat will also be responsible for operation and maintenance including fuel supply over the next 6 years.

One of our proposals consists of a modular biomass unit that incorporates 2no. 300kW Herz Firematic boilers and associated plant that will supply district heating to two neighbouring schools. This proposal takes advantage of the locality of the two schools, giving a cost efficient solution against individual installations, creating a centralised renewable heating hub for both schools. The projects will be completed within an 8 week program with final completion in Spring 2017.

We look forward to working with East Dunbartonshire Council through the delivery of these projects.
