Alternative Heat were appointed as the principle contractor for this project and worked in conjunction with FP McCann to design and install a new 800kW Biomass Energy Centre with 1No. 8,000L buffer vessel and an external 33T Wood Pellet Silo.
A fundamental element in being awarded the contract by FP McCann Ltd was our ability to supply a bespoke modular Biomass Energy Centre, providing a plug-and-play solution offering the quickest solution in switching their heating system that supplies their curing beds, as they could not afford valuable manufacturing downtime on site.
The new Biomass Energy Centre is now connected to each of the 8No. 80m x 1.2m concrete hollow core curing beds. In addition, we installed a new wet system to supply heat to staff areas throughout the factory. The biomass boiler is now the lead heat supplier to the factory, supplying 100% of the heat load to the curing beds, 2No. existing 700kW gas boilers have been retained for back-up.
Full Revit 3D plantroom layout drawings were provided to the client prior to commencement of fabrication works to ensure the best possible layout was achieved.
