The Norwich Creative Arts Centre is a new build which will support the City College of Norwich's vision to deliver outstanding and innovative creative arts training. The building is designed in the style of a barn with large emphasis on glass to the front of the building. The building consists of three purpose built floors dedicated to different areas of creative, performing and digital arts.
The building was designed to be low carbon, the design meets BREEAM excellent standard with 'green' features including natural and mechanical ventilation systems, ground source heating, brown water recycling and solar panels. Alternative Heat were employed to be part of this innovative build to design, supply, install and commission the Ground Source Heat Pump and Underfloor Heating system. The Underfloor Heating comprised of 1490m² over two storeys.
The heating system for the Ground Source Heat Pump comprises of; a Terra SW 90 BA Ground Source Heat Pump, 1000L and 600L buffer tank, all ground source pipework, brine circulating pumps, buffer loading pumps and boreholes and geological thermal response testing. The Underfloor Heating System comprised of 1490m2 of underfloor piping, distribution manifolds, actuator heads, OJ controls package, floor insulation and acoustic insulation.
