Position Description

We are currently looking to fill the role of a Commercial Administrator to support our growing Team in our fabulous new Head Quarters based in Banbridge. This post is a permanent contract and offers an amazing opportunity for a candidate that wants to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company to further their career.

Job Summary

In this position you will play a key role within the Commercial Function and help to deliver award winning projects & products. Assisting to manage the costs from the early design plans, through to the Practical Completion & beyond..

Responsibilities include:

  • Build, manage & maintain relationships with clients, contractors, other construction professionals, suppliers and site staff.
  • Assist in compiling monthly valuations, job costing reviews and final accounts alongside the QS team.
  • Assist in the commercial activities of the business.
  • Assist to prepare on-time monthly valuations following site measurements and work-in-progress reviews.
  • Follow up monthly valuations to make sure that payments are received on time as per the agreed contract conditions.
  • Assist in compiling & processing monthly subcontractor payments including checking applications for accuracy.
  • Assist in costing (including where necessary obtaining quotes) for variations and assist in compiling this information into a formal variation quote.
  • Responsible for managing live project trackers to ensure commercial team have the most accurate up-to-date information available to them at all times.
  • Be responsible for managing monthly due dates for commercial activities such as valuation submission or invoicing.
  • Compile contract documentation ready for review by the commercial team.
  • Assist the commercial team with negotiations by preparing sub-contract documents.
  • Complete and submit project documentation and correspondence within agreed timeframes.
  • Pro-actively identifying and driving opportunities to increase efficiency in commercial management (e.g. automation of existing systems).
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by Management.

    Essential Criteria:

    • 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or equivalent, these must include Mathematics and English Language.
    • Relevant experience working in a similar role.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
    • Accuracy and good attention to detail.
    • Good level of numerical/analytical Skills.
    • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
    • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
    • Good organization and time management skills.

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Third level qualification in a relevant subject.
    • Experience in a construction or mechanical environment.
    • Experience in financial planning and control of mechanical or construction projects.
    • Contractual knowledge of both JCT and NEC Forms of Contract.

Hours:

08:00-17:00, Mon – Thu; 08:00-15:00, Fri

Salary:

Competitive depending on experience
