Alternative Heat secure contract for New 2MW Biomass Facility

Posted on 07 Sep, 2016

Alternative Heat are delighted to have been awarded the contract for the design, supply, installation and ongoing maintenance and operation of a new Biomass Facility at Fife Council's Lochhead Landfill site in Dunfermline.

The contract will see the construction of a new biomass energy centre at the Lochhead Landfill site with facilities to accomodate 2MW of biomass heating. The new biomass system once installed will provide heat via 1.5 miles of district heating pipework to Fife Council's Dunfermline Community Energy Scheme (DCES).

The new biomass heating system will work in conjunction with 3No. CHP units to provide heat via the 1.5 mile of district heating network to: Broomfield Residential Flats; Carnegie NHS Clinic; Carnegie Leisure Centre; Grants Bank Care Home; Matthew Fyfe Care Home; Wellwood Primary School; Queen Margaret Hospital; Tesco Superstore and the Dunfermline Fire Station, with plans to connect the Queen Anne High School in 2017.

We look forward to working with Fife Council through the delivery of this prestigious project.
