Alternative Heat complete installation of prefabricated integrated heat and power Energy Centres on behalf of NHS Highland.

Alternative Heat have delivered integrated Energy Centre solutions for two new build Community Hospitals located in Aviemore and Skye, providing full hot water, chilled water, electrical distribution, and backup power generation for these essential hospital sites.

Designing multi-module prefabricated plantrooms for exposed, rural locations within conservation areas required a solution which would be sympathetic to the local natural and built environment. Our design team minimised the impact on the surrounding area through the application of a natural, local timber cladding, low roof height and external styling sympathetic to existing local architecture.

Paramount importance was placed on the ability to maintain consistent electrical and heating supply for essential hospital services, necessitating a reliable solution, which could be operated and maintained with minimal downtime. For this our design and procurement teams specifically selected systems and components which represented low maintenance, established technologies which could be maintained without the requirement for specialist maintenance knowledge or tooling.
