Alternative Heat has been awarded the contract to design, fabricate and deliver 16No. prefabricated plant rooms for a data centre in Ireland.

The data centre, for a multinational blue chip, will be one of Europe’s largest once complete and is an impressive addition to the company’s portfolio of Offsite MEP Prefab projects.

Alternative Heat’s in-house design teams will undertake full plant room coordinated design to BIM Level 2 and will fabricate and fit out the plant rooms within their state-of-the-art fabrication facilities, which are currently undergoing a £5m expansion.

The contract award is one of several flagship prefabrication contracts secured by Alternative Heat this quarter, as they continue to see strong growth across all sectors.

Speaking with Business Development Manager, Fergal Hegarty, he said, ‘’We have focused strongly on the European Data Centre market over the last 18 months, experiencing significant demand for our turnkey, design and build prefabricated solutions and we are delighted to have secured the MEP prefab contract on this prestigious project’’

‘’Given the current global pandemic and new, social distancing and safe working regulations, there has been a compelling increase in demand for BIM lead offsite MEP solutions, fabricated within factory-controlled environments.  We have built strongly on our teams and facilities over the last few years and are delighted to be at the forefront of providing innovative offsite solutions to meet these changing market demands.’’

Alternative Heat, who are widely recognised as a market leader in the provision of turnkey Offsite Prefabricated MEP Solutions, delivered £19.3m of projects in 2019 across the High Rise Residential, Commercial, Data Centre and Industrial sectors and are forecasting continued strong growth in 2020, with a strong forward order book and substantial offsite fabrication capacity.
