Alternative Heat achieve ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard

Alternative Heat is delighted to receive the new ISO 45001 accreditation for its health and safety management from System Certification Services Ltd, the UKAS accredited body. Alternative Heat were previously accredited to OHSAS 18001 which replaces ISO 45001 as the International standard for occupational health and safety best practice.

Certification to ISO 45001 was achieved after an intensive external audit and assessment and there are many benefits to being certified to ISO 45001:

  • It makes sure occuptional health and safety is firmly at the heart of our organisation
  • It also allows for more robust OHS processes and controls
  • Helps to drive development of systematic processes that consider the broader context, taking into account, risks, opportunities, legal requirements and more
  • An increased focus on worker participation and involvement in anaging OHS risk

ISO 45001 will be combined with Alternative Heat’s other management systems, ISO 9001 for quality & ISO 14001 for environmental and form our Integrated Mnagement System (IMS) ensuring a comprehensive and thorough management package. It also shows our commitment to increased performance, employee and customer satisfaction and continious improvement.

Through integration, our management systems work together, with each function aligned behind a single goal, to improve the performance of the entire organisation.

About ISO 45001:2018

ISO 45001 was launched in March 2018 and is the world’s first International Standard for occupational health and safety.

Designed to help ornaisations of all sizes and industries, ISO state that the new International Standard is expected to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses around the world.

It will help businesses to provide a safe and healthy workplace for workers and other people, reduce work-related injury and ill-health as well as continually improving OH&S performance and enhancing organisational resilience.
